Iona Capital has been announced as a finalist in the 2017 British Renewable Energy awards. The awards, organised by the Renewable Energy Association are the UK’s most prestigious for the renewable energy and clean technology sector.

Iona Capital is nominated for the Financial Leadership category, which recognises a financial product that has accelerated the deployment of renewables in the UK. Fellow finalists in this category range from multinational companies to British start-ups.

Commenting on the Awards, Dr. Nina Skorupska CBE, Chief Executive at the Renewable Energy Association said:

“The strength and diversity of this year’s candidates in the face of what was a tumultuous and uncertain market in 2016 highlights the innovation, resilience, and adaptability of the renewable energy and clean tech sectors in Britain.”

Nick Ross, Director Iona Capital comments:

“I’d like to congratulate the team for their hard work in achieving this nomination. It’s an exciting time to be working in the BioEnergy sector, with proactive approaches needed to meet clean energy goals.

Our funding model, investing in long-term, low-risk infrastructure projects which deliver strong yields to investors, provides a sustainable way of rolling out Bioenergy facilities in locations across the UK.”

The shortlist will now go to a prestigious panel of judges, before the results are announced in June, in a celebration at the Savoy Hotel, London.
