Deal Overview

The investment by was to facilitate the acquisition of the plant, its full refurbishment to allow increased volumes of waste to be accepted at the site and to address previous under performance. In addition, it was intended to facilitate the plant’s expansion to allow for biogas boilers to be installed to maximise the potential RHI that could be generated.

Once works are complete, the facility will process 32,000 tonnes per annum of slurries, chicken manure, food waste and energy crops. The project benefits from a substantial land bank under lease to grow energy crops and for the disposal of digestate. The facility is eligible for FITs and RHI subsidy payments.
